US Army - Harding Fellowship

KU SoJ

The Harding Fellowship is hosted by the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications

The Office of National Defense Initiatives is excited to partner with the US Army Human Resources Command, HQ US Army Training and Doctrine Command, and HQ US Army Combined Arms Center to host the Harding Fellowship.

The Harding Fellowship will select, develop, and employ top performing officers as editors for the Army’s professional journals as a continuation of the Harding Project’s goal to improve the Army profession through writing and discussion.

KU's selection was based on several factors including location, objectives of the National Security Consortium partnership, quality of life, historical relationship, and record of performance with the university.  As part of this partnership, the Harding Fellowship will send an annual cohort of six students to the University of Kansas for one year to prepare them to serve as editors-in-chief of the branch journals through one of the university’s master’s programs.

KU and the US Army are elated at this selection and honored at the opportunity to strengthen the already robust relationship between the Army and the University of Kansas.
